Feeling Pulled in Every Direction? Here's a Way to Find Yourself Again
It was our second to last session…
My client joined late—again. Flustered. Apologetic. She sat down, took a breath, and said, “I’m barely making it to these. Everything is non-stop.”
She wasn’t exaggerating. In the past six months, she’d changed focus three times, stepped up at work, and made the huge decision to homeschool her child. Life hadn’t given her much room to catch up. And now, with work deadlines looming and her child’s education in her hands, she was holding more than anyone should.
And yet, she was still showing up.
Sound familiar?
You might not be homeschooling. But maybe you’re balancing more than feels fair. Maybe you’re tired of rushing from one thing to the next, constantly feeling behind, wondering if this is just how life will always feel.
This blog post isn’t a list of hacks or habits.
It’s a chance to stop.
To ask better questions.
To hear yourself think again.
These are the same questions I ask clients when stress becomes the new normal. They’re simple—but they work.
What do you wish someone would see about what you’re carrying?
Stress builds in silence. We move from task to task without pausing to notice what it’s actually costing us.
Take a moment. Not to explain or justify—just to name it. What are you carrying that no one else sees?
You deserve to be acknowledged, even if only by yourself right now.
What are you learning about yourself through all this?
Most people don’t realise growth is happening in the middle of the mess.
Even when you feel like you’re dropping balls, you’re learning. About what matters. About what drains you. About your limits and your strengths.
So ask yourself:
What’s one way I’ve surprised myself recently?
What have I handled better than I give myself credit for?
What would I protect, no matter what?
When everything feels urgent, nothing is.
What if you pressed pause on the to-do list, and focused on protecting one thing that brings you back to yourself?
A walk. A quiet cup of tea. Ten minutes with your journal.
Stress relief starts with reclaiming small pockets of space that remind you you're not a machine.
Whose expectations am I trying to meet right now?
Stress often comes from invisible pressure—sometimes from others, often from ourselves.
Try this:
Write down everything that’s weighing on you.
Next to each one, ask: Is this mine? Or someone else’s?
This simple check-in can free you from carrying more than you need to.
What does the future version of me need from me today?
You don’t need a 5-year plan. You need a lifeline for this week.
Ask yourself:
What would make this more sustainable?
What boundary could I honour?
What small act of care would help me reset?
The most powerful stress relief isn’t found in doing more—it’s in doing what matters with more presence.
The story ends like this…
That client walked away from the session lighter. Not because her schedule changed. But because she did.
She remembered she had a say in how she moved through this chapter—not just what she did, but how she did it.
So do you.
If you're overwhelmed, you're not failing. You're full.
And that means it’s time to make room again.
For rest. For reflection. For support.
If this resonates and you're ready for real, lasting clarity—not just surface-level tips—I'm here. I coach clients 1-to-1 who are juggling real-life pressure and want to lead with purpose, not panic.
